Genpact, a global business services and technology solutions company, has signed a five-year contract to provide select finance and accounting services for GlaxoSmithKline?s (GSK) US business operations. Genpact began providing similar services to the company?s UK-based operations last year.
Genpact will support US-based accounts payable, fixed assets, general accounting, process planning, travel & expense, and business applications support The transition of these services will occur throughout 2006, with GSK maintaining a small staff to oversee the operations on an ongoing basis.
Genpact serves its clients around the clock from 19 operations centers in six countries. The company has successfully delivered and transitioned more than 1,000 processes for GE and other Fortune 500 companies over its 9-year history. The majority of its 20,000 associates are certified in Six Sigma quality methods. Many are also trained in Lean, process reengineering, and have CPA or Chartered Accountant certifications.
