Two separate debt collection agencies were highlighted in local news outlets Friday for hiring workers in expansions.
Rock Hill, S.C.-based Williams & Fudge will be adding up to 100 workers this year, according to The Herald. The company’s CEO, Gary Williams, said that the hiring plans will bring the total employee headcount to 400, more than double the payroll when Williams & Fudge moved into its current office in 2007.
Williams & Fudge specializes in non-government student loan collections.
Staying on the student loan collection theme, Premiere Credit of North America – one of the 22 companies on the Department of Education’s debt collection contract – has also been expanding, hiring 45 workers for a new office in Batavia, N.Y.
The Genesee County Economic Development Center announced the news Thursday, according to The Daily News. Premiere Credit received a package of incentives in January to hire in the town. The company said it got more than 250 applications for jobs and interviewed 120 before hiring the 45.
