Executive Changes: Two Professionals Join CBE Group's Leadership Team

CBE Group (CBE), a leader in the debt collection industry, recently hired two new experts to join CBE’s Leadership Team. Mr. Ryan Schimmel joined CBE as Vice President of Financial Service Operations and brings more than 12 years of industry experience. Mr. Stephen Ogunyemi has been appointed as CBE’s Vice President of Analytic Solutions Group and brings over 16 years of experience and education in the areas of analytics, risk management and project management.

As Vice President of Financial Service Operations, Schimmel is responsible for successful management and growth of CBE’s Financial Services Division, which focuses on loans, credit cards, direct deposit accounts (DDA), mortgages and other forms of credit and lending.

Schimmel’s in-depth experience brings value to CBE’s operational team and Leadership Team. “Ryan demonstrates the combination of experience, flexibility and high ethical standards that we demand at CBE,” commented Chad Benson, Senior Vice President and COO. “I appreciate the added value and the perspective that he brings to the table. Ryan’s position is instrumental to our growth in the financial services industry,” Benson continued.

Schimmel’s most recent experience includes seven years at RMS Corporation, now owned by iQor. There, he developed and managed start-up portfolios, including three large card issuers and a large debt buyer. Prior, Schimmel spent time at Metris Companies, Inc., now HSBC, and M.R.S. Associates, Inc. He holds a BS from Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from Temple University.

Ogunyemi oversees CBE’s three, primary operational support groups: Analytics Solutions Group, Project Management Office and Strategy Management Group. Ogunyemi is responsible for team synergies that provide a high-level, strategic and dedicated resource for all of CBE’s operational divisions.

Ogunyemi’s background and education offer a unique level of sophistication and expertise that was a perfect fit for CBE. “Stephen has vast experience and knowledge of all things strategy and analytical. His approach in data and project management is a great match for CBE’s growing analytical needs,” said Benson.

Ogunyemi’s experience includes six years of risk management experience in the insurance industry, as well as two years of experience as Director of Operations Analytics with Highmark. He has been responsible for directly reducing costs related to performance analytics. Ogunyemi holds a bachelor’s degree, two master’s degrees, a PhD and an MBA. He is also a Six Sigma Black Belt and an Alumni of Harvard Business School of Executive Education.
