Stoneleigh Recovery Associates, LLC, in Lombard, Illinois, an industry-leading accounts receivable management company, announced Thursday the addition of legal consul to their management staff. Kelly Knepper-Stephens will be joining the company effective September 1, 2011.
Ms. Knepper-Stephens has a background in both trial and appellate litigation. She received her J.D. from the George Washington University Law School, where she returned for the past three years as a Visiting Professor of Clinical Law and Freidman Fellow. At G.W. Law, she focused on appellate work teaching in the Federal Criminal & Appellate Clinic. Last year, she argued before the highest court in Maryland on three occasions. Her trial skills were developed as a Deputy Public Defender at the San Diego County Public Defender Office after leaving law school.
Ms. Knepper-Stephens’ experience also includes working for the American Red Cross in the Litigation Department; and in the Legislative and Legal Departments of the American Civil Liberties Union and the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, respectively. She is barred in the states of California, Maryland and the District of Columbia.
