Keane, Inc. announced today that its Healthcare Solutions Division (HSD) has signed an agreement with NorthBay Healthcare, a not-for-profit, community-based organization located in Northern California, to install Patcom as the health system’s enterprise-wide revenue cycle management (RCM) solution. The deal value is approximately $1.7 million in software, installation, and services over 5 years. Patcom will play a vital role in the reengineering of the health system’s revenue cycle process, helping its two hospitals, NorthBay Medical Center and VacaValley Hospital, realize large-scale efficiencies.
Attracted by the solution’s breadth of functionality, robust integration, and intuitive workflow engine, NorthBay Healthcare selected Patcom after an extensive search for a comprehensive RCM solution to replace its legacy system from A4 Health Systems.
"We wanted to give our staff the very best tool available that could meet our stringent functional and IT requirements," said Pamela Lane, senior director of revenue cycle management at NorthBay Healthcare. "We did our homework and Patcom emerged as the hands-down, unanimous choice among all stakeholders from IT to the end users."
Patcom is an award-winning patient management solution and the flagship product of Keane HSD. Keane’s Patcom product is a widely installed revenue cycle management solution that helps hospitals of all sizes increase revenue and cash flow, decrease days outstanding for accounts receivables, and improve the revenue cycle process. The system leverages Web technology to securely provide access to patient information anytime, anywhere. An open screen architecture allows users to customize the application to suit individual needs and enhance productivity. The system’s workflow engine manages each account’s life cycle from start to finish, streamlining operations and accelerating the collection process.
Ms. Lane cited the strong workflow management capabilities inherent in Patcom as a major proponent to achieving enterprise-wide efficiencies and improving patient satisfaction. She explained that their current system requires that many claims be manually "touched" by staff multiple times before being submitted for payment. Patcom replaces this time-consuming and problem- prone method with a proactive process that automatically guides the claim through each step of the revenue cycle from pre-registration to collections. Accurate and complete information is collected upfront and claims are routed to appropriate staff when an action is required.
"By minimizing the amount of manual intervention, our staff is afforded more time to focus on providing better customer service and improved collections follow-up," said Ms. Lane. "The efficiencies to be gained are tremendous."
"Keane is honored to be selected as NorthBay’s RCM partner and looks forward to helping the health system strengthen its financial performance and improve productivity," said Raymond Paris, senior vice president, Keane HSD. "We are pleased to welcome NorthBay Medical Center and VacaValley Hospital to our growing family of client facilities."
