Ontario Systems, software manufacturer for the accounts receivable management and healthcare industries, has received its Service Auditor Report on the Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements No.16 – SSAE-16 Reporting on Controls at a Service Organization, or SSAE-16, by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). This assessment replaces the SAS-70 and brings companies up to date with international reporting service organization standards and was conducted by BKD, LLP, a top 10 U.S. CPA and advisory firm. All Ontario Systems products are affected, including Collect SAVVY™, FACS and FACS Advance, and Artiva and Artiva Advance.
The audit drives excellence in Ontario Systems compliance in both U.S. and international collections and facilitates the completion of year-end internal paperwork in a timely and efficient manner. The thorough 6-month audit included a 3-day on-site visit to Ontario Systems, interviews of more than 10 associates, and an assessment of the effectiveness of 83 controls and 1,200 documents with dozens of follow-up questions to properly gauge and monitor business controls. An SSAE 16 Type 2 report has been received and will be provided to clients.
According to Rozanne Andersen, vice president of sales and marketing and chief compliance officer, “This initiative further enhances our reputation as a trusted advisor and avoids a significant future cost by eliminating the need to respond to dozens of audits over the next several years.”
“We are very happy to be able to deliver this value to our clients,” stated Dan Potts, manager, process improvement, office of strategy management for Ontario Systems, who worked with BKD and Ontario Systems staff to provide information as needed. “We have had many product advancements over the past two years, and receiving this validation on all 83 of our controls is great, and we’re glad to be delivering the report to clients right away. This is one of those subtle and important ways to demonstrate to our clients that we have their interests and concerns in mind and are out in front, taking care so it does not become an issue for them,” added Potts.
