I am pleased to announce that insideARM.com will launch the next Big Issue in September. Sponsored by IAT SmartDial, The Credit Card Issue will focus on a wide variety of topics related to the largest market segment in the ARM industry.

Why is the bank card/credit cart market a big issue for the collection industry? Just this morning, ACA International announced that the national credit card delinquency rate had fallen to 0.6 percent as of July 1, 2011. This is the lowest level card delinquencies have hit in almost two decades. And while a certain amount of backlogged volume certainly exists in this asset class, shrinking inventories of credit card paper remain a concern for third-party agencies who work it.

As we make preparations for this multi-week special feature, I would like to extend an invitation to insideARM.com’s readers attached to the bank card/credit card market to submit content to be considered for The Credit Card Issue.  Any content we decide to publish will be clearly branded/identified as yours or that of your organization, including a brief personal or corporate bio, headshot (where appropriate), and link to your organization.

insideARM.com  welcomes almost any kind of content submission on the subject of bank card/credit card receivables, consumer collections, the CFPB and consumer collections, debt collection reform or regulations (as they relate to the credit card market), etc.  The only kind of content we discourage is overtly sales-oriented material.  This is an opportunity to be a thought leader, not to promote your company’s products and services. Other than that it’s “open season,” and we welcome a variety of content types (i.e. no need to worry if you don’t have the time or inclination to write a bunch of words).

Here are some suggested content ideas:

  • A blog post (250-750 words) on a topic germane to credit card receivables/trends/reform; for example, “consolidation in the consumer credit industry”
  • A slide/graph/image from a presentation you or your company may have produced on the bank card/credit card market (we can help put it into context)
  • A data point or some relevant statistics, etc. that insideARM.com can render into an infographic or other short-form visual post
  • A recent credit card-related press release about your company
  • An audio blog (or audio file of a conference call, etc.)
  • A video blog (or other video content)—it doesn’t have to be fancy or professionally edited
  • An analysis/presentation/piece of collateral on employee training in the credit card market
  • A write-up of a credit card market charity event, etc. (which we may also feature in our “Doing it Right” series)
  • An assessment of current credit card/consumer protection reform efforts

Again, I encourage you to take a look at the other Big Issues for inspiration.

Follow these easy steps to submit content for consideration:

  1. Email your submissions to mklozotsky@kaulkin.com or editor@insidearm.com with The Credit Card Issue in the subject line.
  2. Submit content by Thursday, September 8, 2011—or as soon as you’ve got something ready. The Credit Card Issue will launch in the middle of September.
  3. Let me know if you have questions or would like to discuss a content idea you’re considering.
